I really think everyone should at least visit the Great Salt Lake at least once. But if you are going to do it, make sure it is March or April. There aren't any bugs and the water is not too cold. I think people would be pretty surprised. It's a pretty amazing place!
That's what the Budd family from Herriman thought! Once I finally convinced the oldest son and his wife to take off their shoes and socks and walk in the water they had a pretty darn good time. Just make sure you don't have any cuts on your feet or legs!!! Actually you might find some you didn't have.
Mom wanted to get family photos taken before their daughter left for a humanitarian trip this summer. We both debated over the perfect spot for quite a while. When I showed her my previous photos of the GSL she was sold.
In addition to the beautiful water there is the Saltair building that has fun architectural features that are fun to photograph. The building houses concerts in the summer.
